Contemporary Craft Exhibition
There is an intimacy in possesing a finely crafted object that’s unique, bespoke, handmade and locally produced. Could it be, that the added value of an object and its romance even, lies in the story of a thing, the bit you don’t see on the gallery pedestal? An understanding of its journey ,conception, and even history? The Source Exhibiton in Dun Loaghaire draws us closer to some local makers and their progeny in this vein; focusing on innovative designers and applied artists who are using craft processes’ and a combination of traditional and new materials and techniques. It’s an opportunity to engage and explore through a series of free workshops, demonstrations, curatorial and exhibitors’ talks with calligraphy, ceramics, glass, mixed media and textiles on show. Who knows? You might come away with something memorable for your beloved.
